The terms of this agreement commence after signing the agreement and paying your first instalment, or in full. You will have a 14-day cooling off period from the date the agreement is signed. If you choose to cancel the agreement within 14 days, a full refund will be provided minus applicable processing fees (i.e. 3% Stripe fee (if paid through Stripe) and a £25 admin fee). This document is strictly confidential and should only be read, signed and submitted by the Client.

Payment Options
When signing this agreement, please note, you will have a 14-day cooling off period after you pay your first instalment / full instalment, depending on which option you choose below. By signing this agreement, you agree and confirm to us that payment will be made immediately (after invoicing) and no later than 7 days from signing this agreement. (If you change your mind during the 14-day period, you must inform us in writing by email to sharon@thebookchief.com). You will be issued a full refund within the 14 days less any fees applicable and an admin fee of £25. Please note that we are a UK business and overseas clients will be asked to pay through Stripe. All Stripe payments have a handling fee of 3% which is not included within the price stated on the website.

A 25% deposit is required if choosing monthly instalment options. Please note after payment is made. Your manuscript should be ready to send straight away after the agreement is signed and payment is made.
It’s important for us to know what you want out of the book so we can guide you on the right path to do this in terms of book cover, title, categories etc. *Please note that very few people make a living from selling their books as the average book sells between 300-1000 over its life-time. Marketing is the key to book sales!
The tasks involved in copy editing include checking written material for grammar, spelling, style, and punctuation issues before it’s prepared for proofreading. The editor may also suggest a developmental edit of your manuscript. This is at an additional cost and will be advised once the manuscript is received. You can send your manuscript before signing the agreement if you wish to know this beforehand.
You are allowed up to 20 images in any book. Any images beyond this will be charged in blocks of ten which are £97 per block. This will be charged both for all formats as version layouts differ.
Ebooks incur an additional charge of £347 which is paid separately.
